"Raising Flagg"
starring Alan Arkin, Barbara Dana, and Matthew Arkin
An eccentric comedy about a small-town handyman, Flagg Purdy (Academy award winner Alan Arkin), who is lovable but stubborn. When Flagg's dispute with his neighbor ends up in court and Flagg wins on a technicality, the townspeople are outraged and refuse to hire him for odd jobs. Devastated, Flagg takes to his bed and tells his long-suffering wife Ada (Barbara Dana) to gather their children for final farewells. The scattered Purdy offspring (including Eldon Purdy, played by real-life son Matthew Arkin) reluctantly return to the family farmhouse for the "final rites" and scheme to raise Flagg from his bed.
Special Guests: Actors Barbara Dana and Matthew Arkin, and
