Poster Contest2008 TriMedia Film Festival Poster Contest Entries accepted between Monday, 21 January 2008 and The full-color 11x17" poster will be used to promote the 2008 TriMedia Film Festival, and will be displayed all over Fort Collins, Loveland, Windsor, and throughout Northern Colorado in August and September 2008. The artist of the winning entry will receive a cash prize of $100, publicity, and five copies of the poster when printed. Design: Posters should have a strong graphic impact, and should be eye-catching from 20-30 feet away. The design should make the viewer want to stop and read the poster (and hopefully, visit the TriMedia Film Festival's Web site and/or buy tickets). Only original artwork will be considered. The contest is open to anyone, and you may submit multiple designs if you wish. The poster should be distinctively different from the 2006 and 2007 posters. Our 2008 logo has red, blue, and green spheres and black lettering (GIF; JPG; high-res TIF). Our official logo must appear on the poster, but you may also use a deconstructed version or elements of it in your design. The bottom 1" of the design must be left blank so sponsor logos can be added (see previous year posters for examples). The poster must include the following information:
Facts about the TriMedia Film Festival: This will be the 3rd annual TriMedia Film Festival, and is held in Old Town Fort Collins. The festival presents original, non-commercial independent film, TV, and theatre, and they are equally important. The festival has a PG-13 rating limit on all entries, so the design should avoid violent or sexual images. The festival offers the unique opportunity for audiences to mingle with filmmakers, producers, actors, and writers behind the works they see. We expect to present around 60 entries in the 2008 festival. The festival includes a premiere and opening gala party, a professional filmmaker panel, a student films section, a family fun fest, a theatre celebration section, and a closing awards ceremony and wrap party. Our festival is relaxed and fun, but we take the arts seriously. Our promotional video uses the phrase "The TriMedia Film Festival: The place to be in 2008." Copyrighted Images/Subjects: You must obtain and provide to us copies of signed release forms for any copyrighted images, materials, or brands. Likeness release forms are also needed for any recognizable people, whether public or private citizens. (Sample forms: copyright release; model release) Size and Form: The poster will be printed on poster-weight 11x17" paper. Artwork must be submitted in digital form (see technical specifications below). You may design the poster on paper, but it is your responsibility to get it scanned into digital form that meets the technical specifications below. Technical Specifications: The design must be submitted on a CD in PDF or TIF form, with fonts converted to curves, and using CMYK colors. The design should be no less than 300 dpi resolution, and must be designed and be of sufficient resolution to print on 11x17" white paper. The design may have any color background (including full bleed), but the bottom 1" of the design should have no design elements so sponsor logos can be added. Horsetooth Productions reserves the right to request the artist to make minor changes to the design and wording before printing. Submission: The submission packet must include:
